Counter-Terrorism Department carried out the operation on Friday night in Mastung, some 45 kilometers away from Quetta, the capital of Balochistan Province.
The CTD spokesperson said the police raided the terrorist hideout after they received a tip-off from one of their sources. “The terrorists were killed in an exchange of fire.”
Nine Kalashnikov rifles, 20kg of explosive material, primacord, detonators, and RPG rockets were confiscated from them.
Earlier in August, 11 the ISIS terrorists were killed in an operation in the similar area and a plot by the group to launch a large-scale offensive in Pakistan's Balochistan Province was also foiled.
A state institute for political research in Pakistan in a report on ISIS activities in the country over the past five years had said the terrorist group carried out eight bombings and armed operations between 2016 and 2021 in various Pakistani cities, killing at least 515 people and injuring 893.
